What's Included in an Antique Service?
Please see the table below for an overview of what is and isn't included in a service for a manual machine.
I am no longer doing any type of restoration work, which means disassembly of parts for deep cleaning etc. If your machine has multiple significant problems, severe rust, missing parts and so on then I may not be able to accept your machine for service. I fully appreciate however that it might be very difficult to know at home what type of work your machine needs, so please do get in touch if you’re unsure. Sometimes they can appear to be in a poor state but are actually not too bad, and the reverse can also be true!
*some of these issues may exist on a machine I’m otherwise happy to work on, but these particular issues themselves will not be worked on.
Please note I am currently unable to travel to your location for servicing. Treadle heads can be removed for transportation from the table by way of two pins at their rear. If you don't know which pins I mean, please get in touch, I'm happy to advise.
Conversion from a manual to an electric machine £85
This is possible for most old hand cranks and treadle machines.
Price is £85 for most machines, to include the new motor and foot pedal, fitting of the motor, and calibrating the belt tension. The YDK motor kit that your machine will receive comes with a belt which fits the majority of machines, but in some cases a separate belt will need to be purchased.
